Jefferson High School recently informed the Georgia High School Association that the school will not be able to host the Class 1A Private, Class 4A and Class 7A state track meet scheduled for May 11, 12 and 13 this spring. The school system is planning a major renovation project to Memorial Stadium and the surrounding practice venues.
The GHSA extends its sincere appreciation to Jefferson and the Jefferson community for its outstanding service to track and field in the State of Georgia, particularly hosting the Georgia Olympics every year since 1972.
The Georgia High School Association’s search for a replacement site is already underway. An announcement will be made as soon as a venue is secured.
