The playing times have been set for the GHSA / Tommy Guillebeau Football State Championships, presented by Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance, on Dec. 9-10, 2016 – the last such games to be played in the Georgia Dome. All games are televised live on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
On Friday, Dec. 9, the first game to kick off will be the Class A Private school championship at 10 a.m. That game will be followed by the Class 3A final at 1 p.m., the Class 5A final at 4:30 p.m., and the Class 6A title game at 8 p.m.
The Saturday schedule (Dec. 10) will begin with the Class A Public school championship at 10 a.m., followed at 1 p.m., by the Class 2A title match. Class 4A will decide a champion beginning at 4:30 p.m., while the final game of the two-day slate will feature the new 7A class championship at 8:00.
Award ceremonies for all eight championships will take place on the field just after the conclusion of each contest. Game-day tickets from Ticketmaster and at the Georgia Dome are $20 each day and are good for all four championship games.
