The GHSA Baseball State Championships, presented by Mizuno, will be played at neutral sites for the first time next spring. Rome’s State Mutual Stadium and Grayson Stadium in Savannah will be the sites for the eight state championship series on May 25-27, 2017.
At each site, two classifications will play a doubleheader on Thursday, May 25 and two more on Friday, May 26. All “if” games necessary in the best-of-three format will be played on Saturday, May 27 and the time schedule for that day will be determined once the number of games to be played is known.
The assignment of the classifications to each site and respective dates for the doubleheaders will be done at a later time by the GHSA office. Using a North and South location will allow for some consideration of geography when the playing assignments are made.
