Minutes from July 20, 2015 Meeting of GHSA Reclassification Committee
A working meeting of the 2015-16 State Reclassification Committee of the Georgia High School Association was called to order at 10:00 a.m., on July 20, 2015, at the Thomaston-Upson County Civic Center by President Glenn White.
Attendance was as follows: Present - 13 (Kevin Giddens, Dave Hunter, Earl Etheridge, Tommy Stringer, Wayne Tootle, Horace Dunson, J.T. Pollock, J.B. Arnold, Tim Vick, Jesse Crews, Donnie Drew, Glenn White, Lisa Moore Williams) Absent - 1 (Bruce Potts)
Tommy Marshall of Marist gave the invocation, and Vice President Lisa Moore Williams led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
GHSA council Alan Connell addressed the committee and the audience to briefly explain the purpose of the meeting, which was to discuss ideas that have been presented for reclassification.
Committee Chair Earl Etheridge then took over, calling for each proposal to be discussed and setting a time limit of 10 minutes per speaker. (Note: Links to summaries of each proposal may be found at the end of these minutes)
