SAAC Description and Duties

  1. The SAAC will be composed of a male and female representative from each classification.
  2. The SAAC will be comprised of Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors of our member schools.
  3. Representatives that are sophomores and juniors are allowed to remain on the council for a maximum of 2 years. This person can serve as a representative for their classification or as an At Large member depending on the need of the council.
  4. Returning members will have first refusal to attend the National Student Leadership Summit in Indianapolis.
  5. All members will be expected and required to attend the 2 in person meetings in Macon (August and January).  Each member will also be required to help plan, organize, and attend the Student Leadership Conference in Macon in the spring.
  6. All members will be expected to attend all zoom meetings held monthly. Athletic directors will assist on making this possible during the school day by notifying teachers and having access to a computer. The zoom meetings only last 15-20 minutes. SAAC members will be excused from the meeting if there is class that cannot be missed due to a test or project.
  7. Members may be asked to help with events held by the Georgia High School Association during the school year.
  8. The SAAC plans, manages, promotes and determines the winner of the following programs:
    • The student section spirit contest
    • The Inspiration Award given at the football state championship games
    • The student leadership conference in the spring.
