Important Information for Playoff Teams

Important information for all 2021 GHSA State Soccer Playoff Teams:

• When your Region Secretary sends your Region's Final Seedings for the Soccer Playoffs (deadline is 9 am Saturday, April 17, 2021) and the playoff brackets are finalized, the brackets will not be adjusted if one school has to cancel due to COVID issues before the first round game is actually played.  Example, once the bracket is set....If #3 cancels due to COVID, your #4 does not become #3 and #5 does not become #4.  This example holds true for any region seeding 1-4.
   
• Once the bracket is set, if a school cancels due to COVID, it will be a forfeit and their opponent will move on to the next round.
• There are several regions that do not have 4 teams to populate the bracket due to various reasons.  In this case, if a region does not have 4 representatives for the playoffs, that region and seed will be listed as a BYE on the brackets for the first round of the Soccer Playoffs for all Classifications. The schools that receive the BYE will automatically advance to the second round.  After the first round, there will only be COVID issue forfeits for games not played.

Remember from the Post Season Coaching Online Clinic, for the first two rounds, you will need to contact your local Officials Association for referees.  The Quarterfinals, Semi Finals, and Finals, GHSA will assign officials.

GHSA | GoFan Digital Ticketing for Early Round Playoffs

Digital ticket sales will be made available through GoFan for all GHSA playoff soccer schools.

Ticket Sales Payment: Digital ticket sales will be paid to the host school the week following the event. 

Cash Ticket Sales: Schools that desire to sell tickets at the gate will be permitted.

State Championship Finals will be digital ticket sales ONLY through GoFan.  No Exceptions.  No ticket sales at the gate at all sites.

Soccer Playoff Broadcasting

NFHS Network has video streaming rights to playoffs & state championships. “School Broadcast Programs” through NFHS Network may stream their own playoff game (home or away) without paying a rights fee. Non-SBP schools may broadcast their own game subject to GHSA rights fees, if the event is NOT being carried on the NFHS Network.  NFHS Network subscription for 30-day unlimited viewing is $10.99. 

Request for broadcasts (radio, TV, digital) contracts should be made during playoffs no later than Tuesday at 12 noon to Steve Figueroa, GHSA Media Relations, stevefig@ghsa.net.
