The Georgia High School Association lost a great friend this week with the passing of former Associate Director Dennis Payne.
Payne died on February 25 at age 72. He worked for the GHSA in one capacity or another for almost 15 years before retiring for good after the 2014 football season. Payne acted as sports coordinator for football, baseball, wrestling and swimming during his tenure with the GHSA.
