Nominations are open for two NFHS awards developed to celebrate the spirit and heart of extra curricular activities. The deadline for submitting nominations for the National High School Heart of the Arts Award and the National High School Spirit of Sports Award is January 15, 2019 for both. The Heart of the Arts Award recipient could be any student, adult or group associated with a school’s performing arts program. This award seeks to recognize those individuals who exemplify the ideals of the positive heart of the arts that represent the core mission of education-based athletics. The Spirit of Sports Award recipient could be a coach, athletic administrator, contest official, trainer, student-athlete or any others associated with the school’s athletic program. In both cases, nominations must be for something that occurred between January 1, 2018 and January 15, 2019.
