Dr. Tim Scott began his tenure as the Executive Director of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) on July 1, 2024. In his role, Dr. Scott oversees the day-to-day administration of the GHSA, including by-law interpretations, student eligibility, hardships, and the Coach’s Education Program.

Dr. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Georgia College and State University. He furthered his education with a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Troy State University and earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Argosy University.

Before his current position, Dr. Scott had a distinguished career in educational leadership. He served as the Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools, the Assistant Superintendent of Operations in the Douglas County School System, and Principal at Douglas County High School, Dublin High School, and Northside High School. His extensive experience also includes roles as an assistant principal, teacher, and coach.

Dr. Scott is originally from Warner Robins, Georgia. He is married to Dr. Robyn Scott, an elementary administrator with the Coweta County School System. They have four children: Jasmine Wood, a mechanical engineer in London, England, who has two daughters, Caden and Lydia; Coach Joe Scott, a football and baseball coach at Richmond Hill High School, who has three children, Callaway, Nolan, and Swayze; Kendall Scott, a nurse practitioner at Grady Hospital; and Coach Gabe Magerkurth, a football and baseball coach at Dalton High School.

Dr. Scott enjoys the ocean, hiking, and his two fun-loving Cane Corsos, Stella and Luna.
