The 2023 GHSA Fast Pitch Softball State Championships, presented by Mizuno, were held October 25-28 at South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus. It was an amazing four days of warm weather, exciting games and supportive crowds. Congratulations to the 2023 state champions: Buford, Newnan, Northside-Columbus, Heritage-Catoosa, Wesleyan, Appling County, Lanier County and Prince Avenue.
It was a back-to-back championships for Buford, Northside-Columbus and Wesleyan, with a first-time title for Lanier County. View complete list of past champions.
A special thanks to all who helped make this state tournament run so smoothly. Appreciation goes to the Columbus Sports Council, Columbus Parks & Recreations, GHSA staff, volunteers, umpires, fans and corporate partners, who made these four days a success. All the best to Ernie Yarbrough, who is retiring after serving as longtime GHSA Assistant Executive Director and softball administrator.
