The 2017 GHSA Track & Field State Championships, presented by the Atlanta Track Club, were held May 11-13 for the first time at three (3) venues across the state with boys and girls events at the same meet.
Congratulation to the state champions with eight (8) first time team winners: Girls - Telfair County (1st title), Athens Academy, Jeff Davis (1), Greater Atlanta Christian, Chapel Hill (1), Buford (1), Mays (1) and Westlake; Boys - Hancock Central, ELCA (1), Vidalia (1), Cedar Grove, Marist, Cedar Shoals, Allatoona (1) and Westlake. Past Champions - Boys & Girls.
Much appreciation goes to the Dougherty County, Carrollton HS and Berry College athletic staffs for an excellent job managing and hosting the three-day state meets. Thanks to officials, Atlanta Track Club, sponsors and all the volunteers that worked hard to host a very successful championship event.
