Atlanta, GA (April 3, 2025) – The American Association of AdaptED Sports Programs (AAASP) has appointed Terri Grunduski as its new Director of Communications, Executive Director, Dr. Jenny Millward, announced today. In this newly created role, Grunduski will lead public relations, marketing, communications, social media, special events, and strategic partnerships to further AAASP’s mission
“We are thrilled to add Terri to our team full time,” said Dr. Millward. “Her extensive experience in sports communication and management will be invaluable as we expand our programs and outreach.’”
Bringing more than 30 years of experience in public relations, marketing, and sports management, Grunduski has a proven track record of building awareness, fostering partnerships, and leading successful communications strategies. Most recently, as the Executive Director of the Sager Strong Foundation, she spearheaded communications, feature writing, special events, and building strategic partnerships to amplify the nonprofit’s impact.
Grunduski’s connection with AAASP dates back to its early years when, as Manager of Community Relations for the Atlanta Thrashers Hockey Club, she championed the program’s mission and saw firsthand the transformative impact of adapted sports on students, schools, families, and communities. Over the years, her involvement with AAASP deepened to include:
- Collaborating on community events with the Thrashers (Sportability Night).
- Partnering with the Atlanta Falcons (Wheelchair Football video project).
- Served on AAASP’s Board of Directors.
- Contractor leading marketing and social media efforts with her team through the agency, the Grunduski Group.
Grunduski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from James Madison University, and has received numerous industry accolades, including:
- Beacon Award (1999) excellence in media at Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. (Community Relations–Full Campaign).
- Beacon Award (1998) for excellence in media at Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. (Education – Single Event).
- The AdaptED Sports Founders’ Award (2021) for her advocacy for students with physical disabilities.
- Best of Gwinnett Awards (2018-2024) for marketing and public relations excellence with the Grunduski Group.
